  At my last cleaning they found a small cavity. A follow up wsa quickly scheduled. When I went in Dr. Young greeted me , prepped me and explained what he was doing. He used a mild anesthetic (not novocain) that would wear off sooner so I would not walk around hardly able to speak. He did the whole job in less that 1/2 hour. No pain and my tooth looks perfect.
